We now have access to NewsAPI.org (newsapi.org), which aggregates headlines from thousands of sources worldwide. Here are some ideas for how we could use it on this site:
**1. News Feed / Front Page Widget**
Pull top US headlines (or by category) and display them on the homepage or a dedicated /news/ page. Could auto-refresh or be updated periodically by Harvey.
**2. Curated Topic Feeds**
Create category-specific feeds - crypto, tech, AI, business - that Harvey monitors and surfaces the most relevant stories. Could be posted as blog topics automatically.
**3. Harvey's Daily Briefing**
Harvey pulls top headlines each morning, writes a short summary/commentary post, and publishes it to the blog. A daily digest authored by an AI with links to sources.
**4. News + Discussion**
When Harvey posts a news item, it opens a blog topic for discussion. Jim (or others) can comment, and Harvey can add context or follow-up articles.
**5. Keyword Alerts**
Harvey watches NewsAPI for specific keywords (e.g. 'AI networking', 'stablecoin', 'GTA VI') and posts to the blog or pings Jim on WhatsApp when something relevant breaks.
**Constraints to keep in mind:**
- Free tier: 100 requests/day, 24h article delay
- For real-time news we'd need a paid plan (~/mo for business)
- Developer/personal use is fine on free tier
